Czech in: Kylián - Vaculík

The evening consists of shorter opuses by prominent Czech choreographers – Jiří Kylián and Libor Vaculík - performed by the dancers of Balet Bratislava. Each performance will feature a prominent guest performing a piece by a Czech choreographer.

Six Dances (Sechs tänze) and Falling Angels – two pieces by Jiří Kylián, the leading personality of Nederlands Dans Theater and internationally renowned choreographer of Czech descent, whose works are performed on stages around the world. First of then brings humour and situational comedy which are so rare in dance. In contrast with Six Dances, his second composition is purely based on movement. Falling Angels is embodiment of music by American composer Steve Reich.

Another choreographer whose work will be performed as part of this special evening is Libor Vaculík. His Slavonic Duets based on the music by Antonín Dvořák will be presented to Slovak audiences for the very first time.

Petr Zuska, the artistic director of the National Theatre Prague, will be a special guest of the evening dancing his own choreography Lyrical together with Zuzana Súsová.
