Katarína Košíková

born in 1985                                                                                                                   

Katarína studied classical ballet at the Eva Jaczová Dance Conservatory in Bratislava and graduated from it in 2003. In the same year she joined the Slovak National Theatre Ballet (SND). Her talent has developed gradually and in 2006 she became a demi-soloist and in 2010 a soloist of this company.       

She danced many solo roles in classical repertory as: Swan Lake (Odette, Pas de trois, Pas de quatre), Nutcracker (Sugar Plum Fairy, Dew Drop, Waltz of the Fowers, solo couple), La Bayadère (Pas d´action, Pas de trois), La Sylphide (Effie), Sleeping Beauty (Silver, Prologue – Variation, Friends of Aurora), Le Corsaire (Odalisque), Grand pas classique from the ballet  Raymonda (First Variation) and Serenade among others.

Katarína´s neoclassical roles at the SND include solo parts in pieces like Midsummer Night’s Dream by Etiѐne Frey (Hermia), The Wooden Princ by Tamás Juronics (Princess), Spartacus by Ján Ďurovčík (Frygia), Don Juan by Igor Holováč (Conchita), Ivan the Terrible (Anastasia) and James Kudelka´s Four Seasons (Summer – solo lady).

In modern choreographies by Jiří Kylián (Un Ballo), Lukáš Timulák (Real Time) Paul Lightfoot (Susto), James Kudelka (15 Heterosexual Duets) as well as in several pieces of Mario Radačovský (Warhol, Encounter with Swan II., Everest  – Women, Change, 68 – She) Katarína proved that she is a dancer of a versatile talent.

She went on many tours with the SND Ballet (Brno, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest, Dortmund, St. Etiѐnne, Canada, China).
